Busan has plenty of places known for great night views, including Hwangnyeongsan Observatory, Yeongdo Cheonghak Reservoir Observatory, and Gwangalli Beach. This time, I’d like to introduce three less familiar spots where you can take in beautiful views of Gwangandaegyo Bridge in the cool evening breeze.
Shall we head out together on a summer night walk in search of beautiful nighttime views?

Dongsaengmal Observatory in Igidae Park is a great spot for a nighttime drive with views of Gwangandaegyo Bridge. It sits at the starting point of the Igidae Coastal Trail in Yongho-dong.
The coastal walking trails are also well maintained, making the area worth visiting even during the day.

Parking at Dongsaengmal Observatory is free and available at all times.
Many visitors stop briefly to take in the night view and then leave, so even when there was a wait, it was no more than about 10 minutes. Parking was not difficult, making this a great spot for a nighttime drive in Busan.

The name Dongsaengmal means “the eastern end of the mountain.”
I arrived by car, and the moment I rounded the corner, the sea opened up before me with Gwangandaegyo Bridge glowing in the distance.
I have visited many places known for nighttime views of the bridge, but the view from Dongsaengmal Observatory felt refreshingly different.

Dongsaengmal Observatory also marks the starting point of the Igidae Coastal Trail and Haeparang Trail, with convenient facilities and a well-maintained wooden deck path.
The views of Gwangandaegyo Bridge and Haeundae Marine City framed by the photo zone installation were truly romantic, making the Dongsaengmal Observatory the perfect spot for a romantic night.
Plenty of benches let you stop and rest, making it a pleasant place to take in the scenery while enjoying a cool breeze on a hot summer evening.

As you follow the riverside path, the fresh scent of the sea gradually begins to fill the air. The mix of river and city views keeps the walk interesting from start to finish.

Once you reach Millak Waterside Park, you can take a break and cool off in the sea breeze. The impressive nighttime view of Gwangandaegyo Bridge is a nice bonus. If you get hungry, fresh sashimi at the nearby Millak Hoe (Raw Fish) Center makes a perfect way to finish the walk.

Q2. Of the three night-view spots, is there one that is good for running?
A. I recommend the route to Millak Waterside Park. Most of the route is flat, making it an easy course for walking or running. It is a great choice for a light run or walk, especially if you want to see Gwangandaegyo Bridge up close at night.
