Your journey starts at the Yeongdodaegyo Bridge, which is a gateway to Yeongdo and became widely known as a bridge where families separated by the Korean War promised to meet again in 1950. Moreover, it is Korea’s first moveable bridge where you can watch the drawbridge in action at 2:00 p.m.
Huinnyeoul Culture Village and Jeoryeong Coastal Trail below the village are always crowded with people who are looking for spots that appeared in movies, visiting small and cozy cafés, and taking the best shots of the sea.
In Yeongdo, Taejongdae Park is also one of the must-see attractions. If you go up to the observatory on a clear day, even Tsushima Island is visible in the distance. You can take the Danubi Train to relax and witness the entire Taejongdae Park.

The Gukje Market retains the traces of the pains of the Korean War, causing it to be selected as a setting of a movie. In this market, you can buy cheap old items and imported goods, making you forget about the time and your hunger. Then, you can move to the Kkangtong Market, where inexpensive but delicious snacks and food await you.
Yongdusan Park is a 10 min walk from the Gukje Market. The Busan Tower observatory, one of Busan’s landmarks, provides the best view of the sunset. At dusk, you can also enjoy the panorama of Busanhang Port with the glow of the setting sun, Yeongdo, Nampo-dong, and Gukje Market. After sunset, you can end your day with a fantastic night view.

The second day starts at Haeundae, one of the most popular beaches in Korea. As it is the most crowded tourist attraction in the country, there are plenty of accommodation and entertainment options.
The Busan Aquarium, the top of the list of indoor activities, there are diverse marine animals on display. Moreover, you can catch exciting shows at different times of the day.
In Dongbaekseom Island, you can find the best coastal walkway alternating between the coast and the forest. You can start from the end of Haeundae Beach, pass through the Nurimaru APEC House, and reach The Bay 101. Alternatively, you can walk down in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the expensive coastal waters of Busan and the splendid Gwangandaegyo Bridge on the observatory where a white lighthouse greets you.

The Oryukdo Islets are famous as the perfect place to witness the beautiful sunset and sunrise of Busan. At the Sunrise Park and Skywalk, in particular, you can enjoy the amazing view of Busan’s emerald coastal waters. Extending to the Igidae Coastal Trail, the Oryukdo Islets are a hiking path that rises and falls with a slight slope, which makes it worth trying for the fantastic scenery presented along with the coastline.

12Igidae Coastal Trail the best hiking trail in Busan

“Igidae” refers to the beautiful bedrocks consisting of delicate rocks in the eastern sea that the Jangsanbong Peak of Yongho-dong, Nam-gu, faces. The name “Igidae” stands for the two gisaeng (female professional entertainers in Korean) from the Suyeong district who sacrificed their lives. During the Japanese invasion in Korea, when Japan conquered Suyeongseong Fortress and held a feast to celebrate their victory, two gisaeng, who are taken to the feast, grabbed a drunken Japanese commander and jumped into the sea. The Igidae area was once closed for military operation reasons, but since 1993, it has been open to the public. At present, it contains dense forests that are difficult to meet in urban areas and is kept clean to serve as habitats for wildlife. Because of its clear water, the place is perfect for fishing.
