This special space, where the modern main building and the nostalgic red clay room annex come together, is a place where you can experience both the sensibilities of the past and the present.
The red clay room is full of warmth, as if you are visiting your grandmother's house. This private room is popular with families for its quiet atmosphere. The spacious front yard is great for children and pets to run around, and in the winter, a snowmaking event is held to add to the winter charm.

Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and terrace, you can enjoy a great view of the mountains from anywhere in the space. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and unwind. Ahopsan Forest

The forest has kept its natural condition unopened to the public throughout the Japanese occupation, liberation, war, and industrialization.
The Ahopsan Forest in Gijang-gun, Busan, is a place that was not open to the world for 400 years.

Once you pass the ticket booth, your journey to the nine mountains begins. The directions are easy to follow on trails, ensuring safe travel as long as you follow the arrows. Inside the Ahopsan Forest are the bamboo habitat, red pine trees, hinoki cypress trees, oak trees, and other trees. The vast forest has a magnificent feel that only visitors can understand. A total of 116 trees are designated as protected trees, showing how long and precious the history of the forest is.

Once you reach the entrance past the tall trees untouched by people over many years, you will come across the Gwanmiheon, the head house belonging to the family that manages the forest. Gwanmiheon, meaning “Keeping an eye out for even the most trivial grass-like bracken,” was built in the traditional method without using any nails and still uses a wooden furnace.

It takes 1 to 2 hours to explore all the trails of the Ahopsan Forest. The fragrance of trees, the birds singing, and the cool shade created by trees are more than enough to rejuvenate the hearts of those tired of busy daily life. Why don’t you walk through the old trees at the Ahopsan Forest this weekend to relieve stress?

Busan Citizens Park

Military camp and park—these two words do not match well together. However, there is a place where a military camp is reborn as a park, namely Busan Citizens Park. For 70 years after the liberation in South Korea, this place had been called the “US Army Camp Hialeah,” but now it’s back as a resting area for people in Busan.

In this park, you will see the man-made, white sand beach and a fountain.

As you walk on the wooden bridge past the white sandy beach, you can see the park's lush greenery.

In the plaza, people in groups are enjoying the afternoon while laying their mats and eating prepared food. The excited children are already on their way to the lawn field. This looks too good to simply let it pass. Thus, you settle at the side and rest. A ray of warm sunshine, a cool breeze, and the freshness of the greenery touch your body.

The round-shaped building, which is the barrack reconstruction of Camp Hayaria, has various amenities. If you are with your children, stop by “Pororo Library.” Pororo is called the president of children. They will be so excited while exploring Pororo’s world.

You see the traces of history in the beautiful scenery in front of you. It is said that the oak tree, which had lived in this place long before the park was built, is 100 years old. This old living tree had witnessed the greatest changes—from the beginning of the Japanese colonial period in South Korea to the US Army Camp Hialeah and Busan Citizens Park.
The “Pillars of Memory” still stand high, as they are recycled products of wooden power poles that remained in Camp Hialeah. This is a reminder that the park was once occupied by the US Army and had a difficult time to be back with the Busan citizens. This is why the park is very special and beautiful.

Beomeosa Temple

Beomeosa Temple in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, is the third largest temple in the Yeongnam area following Haeinsa Temple and Tongdosa Temple.
Built during the reign of Munmu of Silla, it has become famous as a Buddhist temple that has historically nurtured many Buddhist monks. Located at Geumjeongsan Mountain, the temple boasts a beautiful valley and outstanding mountains and is crowded all year around.

Beomeosa Temple has many artifacts made of stone. The stone lanterns at the entrance to Daeungjeon Hall are of great historical value as they show the typical style of the late Unified Silla. On the upper and lower footstones, lotus flowers are symmetrically carved, giving an aesthetic sense of grace, simplicity, and tidiness of the people of Silla.

The Three-story Stone Pagoda of Beomeosa Temple renowned as Korean National Treasure 250 also has traces of the Unified Silla. The thin, flat roof stones are horizontal, creating a stable atmosphere and conveying the beauty of the old Shilla.

The wisteria habitat in the Beomeosa Temple is a good place to take a short rest after walking around the temple, while the rock beach where countless stones form a colony is regarded as one of the most famous places in the temple. Relaxing in the green forest while listening to the sound of water makes you feel you’re in heaven.

Beomeosa Temple, a beautiful temple located on a quiet mountain trail.
For those who need to take a pause, the benevolent smile of Buddha provides relaxation and comfort.
