The building boasts a magnificent exterior against the front sea of Busan. Symbolizing a teardrop bursting forth, the exterior is like a spaceship that travels across the galaxy. The Korea National Maritime Museum is the only comprehensive maritime museum in Korea that displays specialized data in the fields of maritime culture, history, science, and archaeology and provides high-level maritime experience programs.

Let’s start with the third floor where the Permanent Exhibition Hall is located. A large aquarium grabs your attention the moment you enter the space. Large sea turtles swim over your head, making children gather in front of the water tank. Right next to the aquarium is the Permanent Exhibition Hall where you can see the sailing ships that show us the maritime skills of our ancestors, marine people who continued to take on challenges without fear of the ocean, and the traditional sea route that shows how people lived on the sea. The wooden ship used by the Korean missions to foreign countries is reproduced in almost the actual size, forming a popular photo zone where people wait in line to take pictures. To learn about the origin of interesting sea animals, visit the Maritime Life Exhibition Hall, and to satisfy your curiosity on marine leisure, visit the Maritime Experience Hall. There, you will witness fun activities that bring you closer to the ocean.

Now let’s head over to the Children’s Museum on the second floor with children who love the ocean. The Children’s Museum is a maritime experience space where children operate and experience objects. Children are deep into fun play involving the ocean that they don’t even keep track of time. With a separate picnic room, this space is a popular location for family visitors who pack their lunch.
