The name F1963 combines the first letter from the word “factory” and the year “1963” when the first factory of Kiswire was built. The company’s wire factory, operated until 2008, was transferred, and the empty site transformed into a complex culture space.
Inside the F1963, you can see various attractions. The large used bookstore with the lovely interior is crowded with people who check out used books, cute items, and props. Booklovers who visit the place end up more deeply immersed in reading.
Take a full round of the bookstore, and stop by the café where the aromatic fragrance of coffee attracts people. The café uses supplies used at the factory as the coffee bar and table. The place that started out as a coffee roasting factory, is now a café and bakery.
In addition, there is a European pub where you can enjoy Czech beer and cuisine, and a brewery and restaurant where you can try makgeolli(rice wine) and side dishes. The horticulture store is a popular choice where people interested in urban farming can enjoy a gardening class and fresh, healthy food.
There are also spaces that allow visitors to appreciate the art of culture. Here, you can view the works of famous artists and enjoy regular exhibitions and performances.
At the center of F1963, there is a large outdoor space built to symbolize an open space where earth, sky, and people meet. F1963 Square is great for meditating while walking along the herbal garden. There are various videos shown and cultural events regularly held in the space.
Now, it’s time to walk toward Sori Trail, which was built into a bamboo forest path by renovating the floor of the factory where wire manufacturing facilities were located. As you hear the tranquil sound of the wind brushing against bamboo leaves, this cozy space calms your mind and body.
Nature, arts, people, and culture came together to create an energetic complex culture space called "F1963."
If you’ve been dreaming of a short getaway from your busy lives, go to F1963!
