Very few cities are as colorful as Busan. Not to mention the fact that Busan is surrounded by both the East Sea and the Korea Strait, the city also embraces a number of mountains including Geumjeongsan Mountain, which marks the end of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range. This explains why many hillside roads are unique to the city.
Not only that, the Nakdonggang River, the longest river in Korea, passes through Busan and flows into the sea, creating a mysterious estuary scenery that cannot be found anywhere else. In addition, Haeundae Centum and Marine City, in which skyscrapers are lined up along the coastline, attract tourists every night by presenting million-dollar night views comparable to Hong Kong. You should not miss out on even one of Busan's attractions! Do you doubt if you can have enough time to see them all? No worries. You can enjoy Busan's sea, river, and night view at once if you take the Haeundae River Cruise.
Haeundae River Cruise
Haeundae River Cruise departs from the APEC Naru Park dock built in front of the Cinema Center and on the Suyeonggang River. This is a 50-minute course that goes along the Suyeonggang River, passing Jwasuyeonggyo Bridge and Millak RiversidePark to Gwangandaegyo Bridge, and then returns. It runs every hour from 11 am to 10 pm every day throughout the year. You can purchase a boarding pass at the ticket office near the dock or make a reservation online. The 2nd floor of the ticket office is designed as an outdoor cafe, making it a perfect place to have something to drink while you wait for the departure.
The boat, which can accommodate 20 people, has a two-story structure. The first floor is divided into a cabin and an outdoor space in front of the cabin. A large cushion is placed on the bow in front of the cabin so you can lie down and enjoy the scenery. The second floor uses the roof of the cabin like a rooftop. It is an open space with no obstructions so that you can enjoy the openness. Therefore, the second floor is better than the first for enjoying the scenery fully. There are also seats in the shape of a 'ㄷ' along the railing.
A Sunset Panorama along the Suyeonggang River
The time when the western sky turns red. The river cruise slides forward as it cuts through the water. The Suyeonggang River, dyed in the color of the sunset, changes into new clothes every minute. The blue river turns red and then turns purple. The high-rise buildings along the river swallow the last remaining red light and turn on their lights one by one, from the Cinema Center, where colorful LED lights dance splendidly, to the skyscrapers of Marine City in the distance. It is truly a feast of light.
From sunset to night view. Everyone becomes speechless at the enchanting scenery that spreads out in a panorama. What a beautiful night view of Busan from the river! It is a scene that you could not have even imagined if you hadn't taken the River Cruise. Then people take out their cameras. They are busy trying to remember this moment that they will never forget for the rest of their lives.
Busan’s Night View on the Sea
The River Cruise, which leaves the Suyeonggang River, passes through Millak Riverside Park, and goes to the sea. And the gigantic Gwangandaegyo Bridge appears in front of you. Unlike from a distance, it is enormous. Cruise ships flock to the front of the bridge, decorated with white and purple lights, and fireworks begin here and there. It's a moment when anyone can't help becoming a romantic.
The River Cruise, which went around the waters off Gwangalli, turns its bow toward the Suyeonggang River again. The skyscrapers of Marine City, which you forgot for a moment while looking at Gwangandaegyo Bridge, are standing close as if you could touch them. Indeed, it is a ten-million-dollar night view that will beat the night view of Hong Kong. The lights in the city center feel brighter, probably due to the dark blue sky.
As you enjoy the river, sea, and night views of Busan, an hour will pass in no time. It is not a short time by any means, but you might feel a little sad to get off the ship. In that case, you can go up to the ticket office observatory and enjoy the night view around the Suyeonggang River to finish the River Cruise trip.
