In the early 1960s, the market opened only at dawn, but by 1965, it had grown into the official Chungmu-dong Coastal Market we know today.

Set between Jagalchi Market and Namhang Port, this market is alive with the scent of the sea and the energy of daily life. Fresh seafood lines the stalls, while alleys filled with grilled eel, handmade noodles, butcher shops, and clothing stores create a colorful local scene.
Every corner hums with voices and sea breezes that make you want to slow down and stay awhile.

There is a small lookout on one side of the market where you can take in views of Namhang Port—a nice spot to pause after wandering through the stalls.
