The heart of Korea's movie city, Busan, comes alive on the outdoor lawn of the Busan Cinema Center, where Cinema Pop-up: Music On is now in full swing.
Held over six days—October 31 to November 2 and November 7 to 9—Cinema Pop-up: Music On is an immersive festival that brings scenes from the screen into the real world. Visitors step right into the spotlight with a lineup of interactive experiences. The Game Zone, Photo Zone, Experience Zone, Food Zone, Market Zone, and an outdoor stage come together to create a lively, cinematic playground.
On the grassy lawn of the Busan Cinema Center, the Game Zone is where laughter and excitement never stop. It’s more than an entertainment area—it's a hands-on playground where you can literally step into the world of film. Complete and verify three or more game or photo-zone missions, finish a quick survey, and you’ll earn an adorable festival goodie.
Try your aim like a sniper from Assassination., pitch like the ace in The Perfect Game., or take on a mini-hoop challenge inspired by a scene from Rebound.
The “Movie MBTI Test” booth is also a crowd favorite, offering film recommendations tailored to your personality. And with the AR app Soomple, the lawn transforms into a treasure hunt—track down AR treasure chests, answer the quiz, and collect digital badges as you explore.
Step beyond the screen and into the story at the Movie Set Zone—a space where iconic Korean films come to life through full-scale, hands-on sets. It’s an immersive experience that makes visitors feel as if they’ve stepped straight into the frame.
At the Train to Busan set, clear acrylic windows and a recreated train interior create the illusion of being onboard. During scheduled times, zombie performers appear, turning the scene into a pulse-pounding escape sequence. The photo spot inspired by the Badass Girl poster is also a hit. Stand where the lead character would be, and suddenly, you become Na Ae-ri. You can even walk into a courtroom from The Attorney, meticulously recreated to capture the film's atmosphere. Once inside, it feels as though you’re standing in the middle of one of its most powerful moments.
In the Forest of Imagination, the Experience Zone offers six movie-themed programs. For 50 minutes, you step into the story yourself—an experience that just might become a scene you’ll never forget.
Film Screening (GV)
After the special screening of
No Other Choice , film critic Lee Dong-jin will lead a GV session. When the 3:40 p.m. screening concludes, stick around for a relaxed conversation where you can dive deeper into the film and hear candid insights from behind the scenes.
Cinema Concert & Performance
On the outdoor stage, music and film merge seamlessly. Busking, Korean traditional music, and musical-theater performances unfold throughout the day, each creating its own unique atmosphere. Settle into your seat under the soft lights, let the movie music wash over you, and before long, you'll feel as if you’ve stepped into a scene of your own.
On one side of the Forest of Imagination, a row of food trucks fills the air with mouthwatering aromas. Burgers, tacos, hot dogs, croffles, coffee, desserts—there’s something for everyone, and the whole setup feels like a street scene straight out of a film. Wander around all day, and you’ll find that every path somehow leads you back here.
The Market Zone is where film and art come together. Each booth is filled with treasures that draw you in—handmade movie-inspired pieces, miniatures, beaded accessories, character keyrings, knotted bracelets, and more. With creations that glimmer like props from a film set, the Busan Cinema Center transforms into a vibrant arts market.
This isn’t just another festival—it’s a place where film and reality meet. Cinema Pop-up: Music On lets you step beyond the screen and experience it firsthand.
Join us this fall at the Busan Cinema Center for a cinematic moment you'll never forget.
