Get a chance to stay at a special accommodation that requires advance reservations! Check out the “Gadeokdo Lighthouse Experience” program, where you can enjoy both the historical significance and the scenery.
Gadeokdo Lighthouse is one of the last structures of the Korean Empire. The entrance with the symbol of the Korean Empire, the plum blossom, and the Gadeokdo Lighthouse Time Capsule buried to commemorate the completion of the new Gadeokdo Lighthouse in 2002, offer a glimpse into the long history of this place.
The lighthouse experience is only available to those who have applied in advance and been selected. You can take a tour of the lighthouse museum and a tour of the lighthouse tower, which is about 40 meters high, with vivid explanations from the lighthouse staff. It is a meaningful opportunity to learn about the history and structure of the lighthouse. The view of Gadeokdo Island from the bell tower is magnificent. One of the highlights is being able to enjoy the sea view of Gadeokdo Island to your heart's content even from your accommodation.
The restaurant is in the basement and does not serve meals, so it is recommended that you bring your own food. Please also remember that this is a military facility, so there are rules to follow, such as restrictions on going out in the evening and restrictions on taking photographs!
Experience the lighthouse on Gadeokdo Island, where history and nature come together for a special day. Want to have a meaningful trip? Apply for this program now!
