As you slowly climb the forest trail at Bongsu-ro in Yeonje-gu, Busan,
you'll come across a hospitality banner and a Buddha statue that greets you with a bright smile.

Mahasa is a temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism that was first built during the Silla Dynasty, making it one of the first temples in Busan. The temple was burned down during the Imjin War, or the Japanese Invasions of Korea in 1592, but was gradually rebuilt throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.

The wellness program is updated each year, with experiences such as meditation, temple food therapy, and more to balance physical, mental, and social health in the serene, deep mountains.
