Jeonpo Cafe Street became more famous after being selected in The New York Times’ 52 World Destinations of the Year in 2017. Connected to the street, Jeonpogonggu-gil Street is lined with alleys of different colors. The deserts and coffees of the shops filling the narrow alleys are as diverse as their colorful buildings. You can also enjoy various food in Jeonpo Café Street and Jeonpogonggu-gil Street. Walking along Seomyeon Street, Busan’s busiest street, you’ll find a school building and playground called “Norimaru.” Once you arrive at this place, you’re near. Take a look at the buildings next to it, and you’ll notice Jeonpo Cafe Street.
The attraction of Jeonpo Café Street is that each hidden big and small alleys are creating a different world. Every street has a café and restaurants, where you can taste various international dishes. The colorful signboards that you will see whenever you enter an ordinary alley make it difficult to decide what to eat.
If you go up along Jeonpo Cafe street, there’s a big road that is across the entrance of Jeollidangil Street. Although only a path separates the two areas, the atmosphere is different. If Jeonpo Café Street feels like a shopping zone, Jeonpogonggu-gil Street is more like a “coffee street.” Old hardware store buildings stand side by side with cafés with unique interior designs. The mixed sounds from fixing a machine and grinding coffee arouse a unique feeling as if it’s linking the present and the past.
As you walk along the main street, you can see Busanjin Fire Station. After the fire station, there lie four identical alleys. In the narrow alleys standing side by side, there are many different types of shops, including cafés, restaurants, clothing stores, dessert shops, small shops, nail shops, vintage shops, and photo studios.
The charm of Jeonpo Café Street and Jeonpogonggu-gil Street is that you can choose from a huge variety of experiences in such small streets. Having coffee, desserts, and diverse food, and shopping for clothes and accessories are common, but here in the streets, they are unique events for you. Many cafés with different interiors and atmospheres await you with either wide or narrow spaces, low or high ceilings, and modern or vintage designs. When the sun sets, they also transform with different lights.
Various cafés and diverse coffee and dessert selections serve to satisfy our five senses with unique flavors, which can only be found in Jeonpo-dong.
All the alleys in Jeonpo-dong have their own colors. Meet and explore this new world.
