Berry Good Farm

Strawberry picking is one of the special activities you can enjoy in the winter. Located in Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan, Berry Good Farm is a large farm with a land area of 1,000 square meters. It’s popular destination for both group and individual visitors throughout the winter.

The farm started offering strawberry picking experience programs about four years ago. While other farms set the temperature to warm to get the strawberries to grow quickly, Berry Good Farm adjusts the temperature suitable to the season so that the strawberries grow more naturally. Thanks to its natural way of growing berries, their strawberries are very sweet and delicious. The strawberry picking experience program is available from December through March and April. Visitors can take home their picks and/or purchase packaged strawberries.

Chilam-sagye

After the strawberry picking experience, I drove 20 minutes to Chilam-sagye, a bakery cafe famous for its salt bread. Presidential Award-winning confectioner Lee Heung-yong and Busan-based architect Koh Seong-ho joined hands to build a beautiful ocean-view cafe.

As soon as the shop opens at 10 a.m., it is visited by many customers who are busy picking up their favorite baked goods. The delicious buttery smell keeps their hands busy. Its salt bread, which has a really good crust, is the signature of Chilam-sagye. You can find strawberries here as well. The bakery sells strawberry lattes and fresh strawberry Danish that are perfect for winter. You can also enjoy the architectural beauty of the main building, the annex, and the courtyard in between. On the rooftop, you'll face breathtaking views of the Chilam Sea.

Surfing Station

If you're not feeling up to the idea of getting into the cold winter waters, consider indoor surfing. Surfing indoors on artificial waves is a safe and fun way for kids and adults of all ages to have fun. The water quality is kept clean with recirculating water treatment, and the place is equipped with a hot water system with which you can surf in 26-degree water even on the coldest winter days. The size and speed of the waves can be adjusted based on the user's level, making the place a great training ground.

MATIÈ Osiria Golden Lizzy

MATIÈ Osiria Golden Lizzy, run by Chef Kim Jeong-mun, has an impressive ocean view. The restaurant serves unique courses and a la carte dishes that combine modern Korean cuisine with multicultural flavors. It incorporates French, Italian, and Japanese recipes into Korean cuisine and whenever possible, cooks with fresh, local ingredients and vegetables from the kitchen garden. It is known for its affordable but nice breakfasts and extensive wine and drinks list. When asked, it recommends wines to pair with your meal. Of its course meals, the amuse-bouche is like a work of art. It is fun to enjoy the plated meal in order, starting at 6 o'clock direction and working your way clockwise.

Busan Aquarium

Busan Aquarium is an indoor vacation spot and a popular place at Haeundae Beach for many tourists. At SEALIFE Busan Aquarium, you can see more than 10,000 marine animals of more than 250 species. You can enjoy 8 themed zones, an 80-meter-long undersea tunnel, and two main tanks. Aqua Showtime, featuring a prince and mermaid in a 7-meter tank, is the highlight of the aquarium. There is also a variety of performances at different times of the day, including those featuring large marine life. The underwater show is spectacular, with sharks, turtles, and stingrays taking turns to be fed. It is a great date spot for couples and a great place for families and group outings. Ice Rink at Shinsegae Centum City

Since its opening in 2009, the rink has been a favorite in all seasons, not just winter. Ice resurfacing is conducted for 15 minutes every hour from the 45th minute to the top of the next hour. Resurfacing is the process of smoothing the ice to create a clean, smooth ice rink. Due to its good management, it scores high in customer satisfaction. You can also get lessons from the instructors who were on the national team. Located on the 4th floor of the department store and directly connected to the food park, you can enjoy ice skating followed by dining and shopping, making it a great option for a winter family outing.
