As the Korean Wave spreads worldwide, interest in K-pop, K-drama, and Korea in general is increasing. Foreign tourists are attracted to Korean food by the Korean Wave. I would like to introduce places in Busan that offer cooking classes for Korean food lovers.
I LOVE HANSIK
I LOVE HANSIK has been holding cooking classes since 2017 to spread Korean food culture to foreigners and develop Korean food tourism. You can make various Korean dishes with Chef Lee Min-jung, who is a certified Korean chef and has extensive experience. It offers regular and irregular cooking classes in various foreign languages , such as English, Japanese, Chinese, and Indonesian, facilitating foreigners to visit comfortably without language barriers. I felt warm as they taught me everything in detail, such as how to use a knife, cut vegetables and meat, and other small cooking tips.
I LOVE HANSIK offers cooking classes on a variety of traditional foods, including Gimbap, Tteokbokki, and Japchae, which can be easily found on the streets, as well as Korean home-cooked food, such as Samgyetang/Ginseng Chicken Soup, Dakgalbi/Spicy Stir-fried Chicken, Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Galbijjim/Braised Galbi. The dish I cooked that day was Dakgalbi with an attractive spicy seasoning. Even though I cooked it for the first time that day, the chef taught me kindly and thoroughly, so I was able to make delicious Dakgalbi. I felt like I could go home and cook it right away.
Next, I made Haemulpajeon/Seafood and Green Onion Pancake with fresh seafood. When it comes to Haemulpajeon, its visual appeal is important, so they advised me to pay more attention to the size when preparing the ingredients. I was told it would look better if I cut it to a certain size. They also gave me tips on flipping Haemulpajeon so I could finish them looking pretty.
I was able to cook Korean food, which I have always been interested in, with a highly skilled chef, having a great time tasting the dishes I made. I recommend I LOVE HANSIK to those who want to experience Korean food.

Experience Busan
Experience Busan is a Busan Tourism Organization startup company in 2022, which operates the 'K-Food Communication Program,' a cultural exchange program through food. It offers various cultural experiences for domestic and foreign travelers visiting Busan and those interested in Korean food and culture. Of course, it also provides cooking classes for Korean food lovers.
I took a cooking class with Chef Hwang Eun-ju, who is certified by the International Food and Health Culture Association in Japan as a macrobiotic dietary instructor in Korea and has extensive experience in cooking and broadcasting.
I made a Korean dessert that anyone can easily make with ingredients easy to prepare that day. It was a Korean chocolate dessert using Nurungji/Scorched Rice.
Applying heat and melted chocolate to the Nurungji/Scorched Rice as if coating it, top it with dried fruits and nuts to complete the dish. The chocolate-covered Nurungji, topped with your favorite fruit, looks beautiful.
We tried the carefully made dessert, chocolate Nurungji/Scorched Rice, with warm tea and packaged the remaining desserts beautifully. It was a cooking class that anyone could enjoy because it helps you to make Nurungji, which may seem unfamiliar to foreigners, into a pretty and easy-to-eat dessert. It would be a perfect gift on the upcoming Valentine's Day or White Day.
