A visa is an authorization granted by a territory to a foreigner, allowing them to enter. A foreigner, who desires to visit Korea,
must have a valid passport and visa and enter Korea before the visa expires upon ensuring that the purpose of travel corresponds to the visa category.
A foreigner from one of the visa-free countries or the parties to the Visa Waiver Program can travel to Korea without a visa only for the purpose of tourism. If you are from a country not on the list of parties to the visa waiver agreement or wish to travel for any purpose other than tourism or short stay, you must obtain a visa through a Korean embassy or consulate’s office near you.
People traveling internationally to Korea must fill out the Customs Declaration Form even if they have nothing to report. In cases where they travel with their family members, they may fill out only one form for the family.
This convenient system allows you to use an automated passport control kiosk and easily go through immigration instead of taking time at the checkpoint answering an immigration officer’s interview questions.
