The “Amitabha Great Buddha” has a height of 21 m, while the building has 45 m tall, making the towering statue visible from far. Upon viewing the Amitabha Great Buddha closely, you will be impressed by not only its large size also its powerful vibe.
At here, you will also notice the jars used to preserve kimchi or other ingredients. As they are usually seen in historical dramas, it is rare to see so many of these jars gathered in one place in Korea recently. Temperature control is the secret to maintaining the flavors of kimchi. As such, the surface of the jar that stores the kimchi has a small air hole to help with fermentation and maintain fresh flavors. That is why some refer to this jar as the “breathing jar.”
